Happy Friday Loves! I'm off to Indio, CA to set up at an event for Stagecoach. Then i'll be enjoying the desert weather for a few days - lucky me! Before I depart, i wanted to share some images from my guest post series on 100 Layer Cake this week. The girls were nice enough to invite me to share some centerpiece ideas with their readers while Kristina is enjoying her little bundle of joy on maternity leave. I had a great time working with my mister to come up with everyday objects to use and upcycle to create some unique centerpieces. I really love how they turned out and I hope you do too. You can see the full posts with DIY instructions here, here, and here
A cinder block as wedding décor? Why not? These inexpensive building materials clean up quite nice.
Onto the makeover.
First, using acrylic paint I painted each cinder block with the corresponding table number. It helps to trace an outline of the number in pencil first. If you’re unsure of your painting skills you can find stencils to use as a guide for your numbers. To create the arrangement, you’ll need a glass container that fits snuggly inside the center and a couple small pin frogs, or one big one. Simply place the glass container inside the middle of the cinder block. Affix the pin frogs and add water. Arrange your flowers with rustic flair and you’ve got yourself a centerpiece.
Don’t you just love how the rough cinder block plays against the delicate nature of these flowers? Gorgeous.

I've never seen "half" cinder blocks. Do they sell them that way or can they be vut in half, & if so, how ?
"CUT" in half is what meant to say !!
